GDPR & Data Privacy
With the digitalization of society, the processing of personal data has become a prerequisite—and an independent value—for the operations of companies, authorities, and other organizations. Concurrently, the demands to protect the privacy of employees and customers have increased significantly. The EU has the world's strictest regulations for personal data processing, and it continues to evolve through new legislation and case law.
Lindahl has extensive and solid experience in data protection and closely follows legal developments. We assist our clients in a practical and concrete way to implement data protection requirements in the client's specific environment and operations, based on the client's circumstances. We continuously assist clients with issues ranging from data processing agreements and privacy policies to legal opinions. We act as representatives in contacts with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) as well as in legal proceedings in court.
We offer advice regarding the transfer of personal data to third countries where group-adapted solutions are applicable, as well as larger implementation measures such as the establishment of binding corporate rules.
"High skills, strong competence within the organisation and lengthy experience within privacy law." The Legal 500
We investigate and provide advice on complex issues related to Life Sciences and medical research, delineations between GDPR and Swedish constitutional law in areas such as freedom of the press, and conduct impact assessments of video surveillance.
On behalf of our clients, we conduct special audits (due diligence) of companies' handling of personal data and other sensitive information and help ensure that the handling complies with applicable regulations.
With our extensive and broad knowledge, we can offer our clients a unique combination of business understanding and legal expertise to create business value.
